中国有诸多珍贵的世界文化遗产，像：天坛、长城、圆明园……但我印象最深的，就非故宫莫属了。接下来，就由我为大家介绍一下吧！

故宫，原名紫禁城，位于北京中轴线中心。建于1406年，明成祖永乐年间1420年建成，年代悠久。

故宫是一个长方形的结构，南北长961米，东西宽753米，四周有一道10米高的墙，外面有52米宽的护城河，可以起到抵御外敌入侵的效果。以三个大厅为中心，占地72万平方米，建筑面积约15万平方米。它有70多座宫殿和9000多座房屋，还存有150余万件文物，因此，1987年被联合国教科文组织列为“世界文化遗产。”

到了故宫，从天安门往里，穿过一片铺着青砖的广场，便到达了故宫的正门——午门。午门气势恢宏，彰显出皇室的威严。

穿过午门，又是个大广场，广场上有一座金水桥。过桥经太和门便是雄伟的太和殿。虽说故宫共有宫殿9000多间，但最有名是三座大殿：太和殿、中和殿和保和殿。太和殿是最富丽堂皇的建筑，俗称“金殿”，是皇帝上朝的地方，同时也是摆放龙椅的地方，可惜在慈禧执政年间，龙椅被攻入北京的八国联军肆意践踏还拍照留念，这是我们中华民族的耻辱。中和殿是皇帝休息和学习礼仪的地方。而保和殿则是每年皇帝赐宴王公贵族的场所。除了这三大殿，其余的大殿也是金碧辉煌，各有千秋。

从地图上可以看到，整个北京城就是以故宫为中心，沿着一条中轴线排列，向两旁展开，左右对称。这条中轴线不仅贯穿在紫禁城内，而且南达永定门，北到鼓楼、钟楼，贯穿了整个城市，气魄宏伟，规划严整，极为壮观。

从故宫北门——神武门，出来就到景山了。这里是欣赏北京风景的最佳地点！故宫真不愧为祖国的宝贵财产！
